Our client is a world-renowned leader in the technology and innovative solutions space, providing critical infrastructure software to enterprises globally. They are currently seeking a seasoned Tax Manager to join their Brisbane-based team.
Reporting directly to the Global Head of Tax, you will take full ownership of the Australian tax function. This is a pivotal in-house role that balances high-level strategic advisory with hands-on compliance management. It offers a diverse mix of tax accounting, international exposure, and the opportunity to drive digital transformation within an automated ERP environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Compliance Management: Oversee the accurate preparation and timely filing of all Australian tax returns, ensuring strict adherence to both local and international regulations.
- Indirect Tax & Reporting: Responsibility for the end-to-end management of BAS, Withholding Tax, Payroll Tax, and FBT.
- Strategic Advisory: Act as the internal subject matter expert, providing guidance on transaction structuring, contract reviews, and financial planning to cross-functional departments.
- R&D & Transfer Pricing: Manage R&D claims alongside external partners and monitor compliance with global transfer pricing policies, including the preparation of local files.
- Process Innovation: Lead the charge on digital adoption, identifying opportunities within the ERP system to automate tax processes and increase reporting accuracy.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Proactively manage relationships with tax authorities, external auditors, and advisers, while supporting the internal accounting team during hard-close periods.
The successful candidate will possess:
- Qualifications: A Degree in Accounting/Law, CA/CPA or Tax Advisor certification.
- Experience: In-house tax experience
- Technical Depth: Strong tax accounting knowledge and a background in corporation tax compliance.
- Digital Acumen: Proficiency with tax software and a genuine interest in process improvement and technology.
- Soft Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and challenge the status quo to drive efficiency.
